Job Description

Join TEQ as a fast-paced and creative Social Media Specialist in this temporary full-time role through to June 2026. You’ll lead the development, execution, and optimisation of Queensland’s social media presence, building brand awareness, driving engagement, and connecting with audiences across multiple platforms.

This role creates and manages paid and organic content aligned with the content plan, ensuring accuracy, visual appeal, and brand alignment. You’ll stay ahead of emerging trends and platforms to drive innovation and adopt best practices in social media.

Key duties:

  • Craft tailored, scroll-stopping copy and original content (reels, memes, GIFs) for diverse audiences and platforms, aligned with the content calendar.
  • Capture offsite content using mobile devices and brief freelance creators for shoots as needed.
  • Create and brief assets for paid campaigns, execute and optimise ads across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and Reddit in collaboration with agency partners.
  • Manage organic content scheduling and publishing via Emplifi, curate UGC, and engage followers to grow Queensland’s social media community.
  • Monitor performance, attend weekly WIPs, and contribute to planning with insights from paid and organic content.
  • Maintain an accurate content calendar, collaborate with the website team, and support crisis communications when required.

Desired Skills and Experience

For this role, we will consider your:

  • Proven experience creating organic and paid social content for consumer brands.
  • Strong copywriting, storytelling, and multimedia content creation skills.
  • Hands-on expertise with Facebook Ads Manager, TikTok, and YouTube ad platforms.
  • Sharp eye for creative quality, refining visuals and copy based on performance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
